Privacy policy

Effective 25 October 2026

This policy covers the UniDay mobile app (iOS and Android) and the website uniday.eu. UniDay is built so that your data stays on your phone.

Who is responsible

Data controller: Raimonds Eglītis, Riga, Latvia. Contact: info@uniday.eu.

What data the app processes

The app requires no sign-up and the current version creates no user accounts. The following data is stored only on your device and is not sent to our servers or to third parties:

Deleting the app deletes this data from the device.

Camera

The camera is used only to read a loyalty card barcode when you start a scan. Images are not stored or sent anywhere. Only the scanned card number is saved on your device.

Notifications

The app may ask for permission to show notifications and a badge on its icon. The current version does not send your device identifier to a server and does not send remote notifications.

Sharing

When you choose to share information about a lecture, UniDay opens your phone's share sheet. You decide what to send and to whom, and the message is sent by the app you choose, for example WhatsApp.

Transport data and location

Public transport timetables are built into the app from the open data of Rīgas satiksme and Pasažieru vilciens (data.gov.lv). The app does not use your location.

Analytics and advertising

UniDay uses no advertising, tracking or analytics tools and does not sell data.

Lecturer names

The timetable shows lecturer names from the group's timetable so students know who teaches the lecture. If you are a lecturer and do not want your name shown, write to info@uniday.eu and we will remove it.

Website uniday.eu

The website uses no cookies or analytics tools. Server technical logs may briefly store IP addresses for security purposes.

Your rights

You have the right to request information about your data, its correction or deletion, and to object to processing. Since the current version does not send your data to us, you can manage and delete it yourself on your device. If you believe your rights have been infringed, you can contact the Latvian Data State Inspectorate (dvi.gov.lv).

Children

UniDay is intended for university students and is not intended for children under 13.

Changes

Future versions are planned to include features that need a server, such as shared group notifications and a Pro subscription. Before they are introduced this policy will be updated, and changes will be shown on this page.
